FAQ

What makes selvedge denim unique?

Selvedge denim refers is woven on traditional shuttle looms that produce a clean, self-finished edge (the “self-edge” or selvedge), often having colourful selvedge visible when cuffs are rolled. This weaving method creates a denser, more durable fabric with a tighter construction and a premium finish.

Selvedge denim is like a blank canvas — one that transforms over time with every move you make. The beauty lies in its evolution. As you wear it, the fabric molds to your body, softens at stress points, and begins to fade in places unique to your daily life.

Every crease, whisker, and honeycomb behind the knee tells a personal story not just of the denim, but of the wearer. No two pairs age alike. This slow, honest wear is what gives selvedge denim its soul a raw, individual character that no factory distressing can ever replicate.

How do I take care of my denim the right way?

For Normal Denim:

To take care of your denim and preserve its shape, colour, and comfort, avoid
frequent washing. Spot-clean small stains when possible, and turn your jeans inside out before washing to protect the outer surface. Use cold water and a mild detergent, and always air dry — avoid the dryer, as heat can shrink and break down fibers over time. Wash only when necessary, typically after 5–10 wears, to maintain the richness of the fabric.

For Selvedge Denim:

Selvedge denim is crafted to age beautifully and develop personalized fades with wear, so less washing is key. Wear them in as long as possible before the first wash — often 3 to 6 months — to allow creases and fades to naturally form. When it’s time to clean, hand wash or soak in cold water with gentle detergent. Do not wring or twist; simply air dry flat or hang. This care routine not only protects the integrity of the selvedge edge but also enhances the raw denim’s character over time.

How to get your right size of denim?

Waist:

Wrap a measuring tape around the waist, depending on rise required. (high/mid/low). Make sure the tape is snug but not tight — you should be able to breathe comfortably.

Hips:

Stand with your feet together and measure around the fullest part of your hips and buttocks. This ensures the jeans fit well through the seat and hip area.

Rise:

Measure from the crotch seam up to the top of the waistband to know your preferred rise (low, mid, or high). This helps you understand where the jeans will sit on your body.

Inseam:

Measure from the inside of your thigh (crotch) down to the bottom of your ankle. This gives you the length of jeans you’ll need — whether you like them cropped, ankle-length, or full-length.

Thigh:

Measure around the fullest part of your thigh for a more tailored fit, especially if you prefer slim or tapered styles.

Do refer to the brand's size chart as measurements may vary slightly. If you're between sizes, choose based on whether you prefer a snug or relaxed fit.
